Insurance

I am not in network with any insurance companies.

At Thrive Psychology, I’ve made the intentional decision not to accept insurance—and I want to share why. While insurance can be helpful for many, it often comes with restrictions that may not serve your best interests. Insurance companies frequently limit the number, length, and frequency of sessions, and may not cover certain evidence-based therapies.

This means that critical decisions about your care—what kind of therapy you receive, how often, and for how long—are made by someone outside the therapeutic relationship. By working outside of insurance, we can collaborate more freely, tailoring your treatment to your unique needs, goals, and pace of healing.

Additionally, insurance companies require a formal mental health diagnosis to authorize treatment. This may not reflect your personal reasons for seeking therapy—and once submitted, it becomes part of your permanent health record. For some clients, this can feel limiting or misaligned with their goals for growth, healing, or self-understanding.

As a specialist in PTSD treatment, I’ve chosen not to accept insurance so I can maintain a deep focus on my area of expertise. This decision allows me to keep my practice intentionally small—ensuring that each client receives the time, attention, and individualized care they deserve.

By working outside of insurance constraints, I can tailor treatment to your unique needs without external limits. The quality of care and the depth of our therapeutic relationship are my top priorities, and this model supports both.

Out-of-Network Billing

Some insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits, which may allow you to receive partial reimbursement for services provided at Thrive Psychology. We encourage you to contact your insurance company directly to ask about your eligibility, specific coverage, and how to access these benefits.

If you qualify, we’ll provide a monthly Superbill—a detailed receipt of your sessions—available through your secure patient portal. You can submit this document to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Please note that reimbursement is not guaranteed, and Thrive Psychology does not communicate with insurance companies regarding these decisions.

To process a Superbill, your insurance company will require a formal mental health diagnosis, which becomes part of your permanent medical record. We encourage you to consider this carefully when making decisions about your care.
